Who this policy covers

This policy covers the See Vatican editorial guide. It does not cover Viator, tour operators or official ticket websites that you visit through our links.

Browsing the guide

You can read this site without an account. We do not run a newsletter, collect tour payments, store passport details or provide an on-site booking form.

Searching, filtering and comparing tours happen in your browser and are not saved as a visitor profile. We use Google Analytics 4 to count which pages are read and which links to Viator are followed, with the tour code of a followed link. It does not receive your name, email address or booking details. We do not use advertising pixels.

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Serving it involves technical request information such as an IP address, the requested page, browser information and the request time. Cloudflare processes this information to deliver and protect the website, under the Cloudflare privacy policy.

Cookies and browser storage

Google Analytics sets two cookies: _ga and a property cookie that starts with _ga_. They tell a returning visitor from a new one and last up to two years unless you clear them. You can block them in your browser, and the guide works the same without them.

This guide does not save search and comparison choices to persistent browser storage. Fonts and displayed images are served with the site; reading a page does not load an embedded booking widget or review feed.

If you follow an external link, the destination website may use its own cookies and tracking. Its own privacy and cookie policies apply there.

Messages you choose to send

The contact form asks for your name, email address, topic and message, with an optional page URL. We use these details to understand and answer the enquiry, investigate corrections or handle a privacy request. Please send only what is needed for that purpose.

The form sends your message by email to the editorial mailbox through Cloudflare Email Routing. The local preview checks form entries without sending or saving them.

The form uses validation and short-lived request counts to limit repeated submissions. Message content is not written to application logs or stored in a site database. Correspondence is handled in the editorial mailbox.

Correspondence should be kept only while needed to handle the enquiry and any related record-keeping obligations. We do not use editorial enquiries to build advertising audiences or sign people up to marketing.

Affiliate and booking links

Our Viator links contain an affiliate identifier and a campaign tag so the booking platform can attribute a referral to this guide. We do not receive your card or passport details through those links. The provider handles any booking and its associated personal information.

Where applicable law provides these rights, you can ask for access to your information, correction, deletion, restricted processing or a portable copy, and object to certain processing. You may also contact the relevant data protection authority.
